Hope it's worth the wait!

First of all, THANK YOU to all of you who commented on my last post!!

It's nice to know that I'm not the only one suffering from

"Would-you-please-be-quiet-for-just-five-minutes-before-I-loose-my-mind" syndrome!

It does give me hope that it does seem to get better....

Eventually.

Anyway, on to other things!

Have you ever seen something in a store that just immediately catches your eye?

Even though you don't have a clue where you would put it or what you would do with it?

It just speaks to you and says "TAKE ME HOME!"

Well, a few years ago, when we were almost finished building our house, I walked into this local Home Decor store, and saw this rack hanging on the wall.

I was immediately drawn to it, for some unknown reason.

At the time, decorating was the last thing I needed to be thinking about.

I had to worry about paint, doors, floors, moulding....

So, I ignored the little rack, and moved on with my life.

I didn't think about it for a while, but then when the dining room project got into full swing,

I wanted something to go between the two cabinets.

I immediately remembered the rack.

The next chance I had, I went back to the Decor Store and was crushed when it was not where I had originally seen it.
I mean, I don't know why it wouldn't still be in the exact same spot after THREE years.

I asked someone who worked there and she said she doubted they still had it after all that time.

I was frustrated, but I continued to look around the rest of the store for some other things I needed.

Well, I ended up near the back of the store, and low-and-behold, I saw it!

It's shelves were packed with stuff, but it was the shelf I had wanted all of those years before!

I was also excited to think, that since it was now in the very back of the store, the price should be marked down.
NO SUCH LUCK!

The price was still just as high as it had been three years before.

UGH!

As much as I wanted rack, and as perfect the size was for my dining room,

I just couldn't make myself spend that much money on it.

So, I thought, "I've waited this long for it, I'll continue to wait until it goes on sale."

I went in the store every few weeks, checking my rack for a bright orange sale tag.

I went in one day and an employee asked me what I was looking for, I told her about checking to see if "my rack" was on sale, she just laughed at me and said "Good Luck with that. That stuff never goes on sale."

So, I stayed away for a few weeks.

Well, yesterday Jameson and I had to run several errands, and I thought since I was on that side of town, I would go by and visit my rack.

I was very upset that it was missing from it's "usual" space.

But then, I saw it sitting on the floor.

And THEN, I saw something even  better....

A BRIGHT ORANGE SALE TAG!

WOOO HOOOO!!

It wasn't as low as I wanted it to be, but it was low enough to find it's way into my basket, through check-out and into my car!

And now it's in it's new home, just waiting for paint, and to be hung!

I initially thought I would paint it a creamy white with a brown glaze, but since it's been sitting in it's new home, I am thinking I should paint it black, with maybe a few gold or brown accents.

I can't wait to see it painted, hung and loaded with accessories!

I sure hope it will be worth the wait!
