It's the BIGGEST day of the year here in Alabama!

No, I don't mean because it is BLACK FRIDAY.....

No, I don't mean because it is the day after Thanksgiving.....

And no, I don't mean because it's "officially" the first day of the Christmas season....

It's so much more than that....

It's the IRON BOWL BABY!!

For those of you who aren't from this area, here is the "official" definition:

"The Iron Bowl is a common name for the annual college football game between the University of Alabama Crimson Tide and the Auburn University Tigers. The series is considered one of the best and most hard-fought rivalries in all of sports. As the rivalry was mainly played in Birmingham, Alabama for many years, the name of the Iron Bowl comes from Birmingham's historic role in the iron and steel industry, in which its only rival was Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania." From Wikipedia

But in this household, the Iron Bowl is known as:

"The day that Alabama kicks Auburn's bootie!"

To all my Auburn buddies out there, I will "see" you at 1:30 and we will see who wins bragging rights {again} this year!

May the BEST TEAM WIN!

And they will!

ROLL TIDE ROLL!!!

  2. Hey Robin! I know just what you mean, we had our version of the Iron Bowl last night - it's called the Lone Star Shootout here. And my boys in orange prevailed - yipee! Have fun. Kathy

  3. HELLLLOOOOO!!!!!!

Honey, I can talk football! :) We have our two awesome college teams, the University of Oregon Ducks vs. Oregon State Beavers next week. The winning team for this year's Civil War game goes to the Rose Bowl.

Our season tickets are now worth a small fortune but we won't sell, we will be at the game rooting for the Ducks!

Robin, who would think we are both college football lovers?
