Family Counts!

As I've stated many times before, we are extremely blessed that Marty has a great job with a great company.  One thing they do for the employees every year is host a HUGE company-wide picnic for all the employees and their families.  They call the event "Family Counts".

We went several years ago when Jameson was about 2 and had a great time.  Unfortunately, we have been unable to attend again due to work schedules or sickness.  This year it worked out that we were able to go!  The kids were so excited, and I will admit, I was excited to go, too!

We left early and grabbed some breakfast.

Then we headed to the event.  We got there about an hour early, but they let all the early birds on the buses....yes, they bused us from parking to the event.  Wonderful!

This is where I realized I was seriously over-dressed for the occasion!

Once 11:00 rolled around, we were ready to go!

Acres of games, rides, and food...all FREE!

The faces he made on the bumper cars were priceless:

Chelsea saw this pig walking around and she just jumped up, ran over to him and gave him a hug!

Petting zoo!

They also had two stages. One had music and the other had lots of things for the kids, like magic, puppet shows and this reptile show:

For any of you from my hometown, I know you all remember Mr. Yarbrough's snake show that came to the school every year.  Well, since he passed away, his daughter Rebecca and her husband Ken, have continued his works of educating people about snakes and reptiles.  Talk about a blast from the past!  It brought back so many great memories of school!

And I know this is a picture-of-a-picture, but my scanner is broken and I just love this picture!

Well, after a few hours of great fun, the clouds started rolling in and we decided to head out.  However, we ended up making an unexpected visit that was even better than the picnic!

More about that tomorrow!
