When Minecraft Steve and Katniss come for a visit.

This year, with Halloween being right in the middle of the week, we wanted to try and keep things as low-key and calm as possible. Normally, we are driving from one end of the county to the other, trying to hit as many relatives and good trick-or-treating places as possible. One of our newer neighbors came over on Monday and said that several people in the neighborhood wanted to try to hand out candy for all the kids that live around here. This is huge because normally nobody ever trick-or-treats in our neighborhood. (Not that it's a bad neighborhood, it's just off the beaten path a bit and nobody really knows we are here. We like it that way. lol)

Well, y'all know me and my love for Halloween, so I was thrilled!

The kids put on their costumes and their daddy walked the neighborhood with them. But not before Mama got a hundred few pictures.

Jameson wanted to be "Steve" from the Minecraft game.  Yes, his head is a large cardboard box.  Yes, I paid for it.  Yes, I realize that probably wasn't the best decision, but hey, he loved it and that's all that mattered.  LOL  Chelsea is dressed as Katniss from the Hunger Games series.  She had everything needed for her costume, including a mockingjay pin.  The only thing we had to get was the bow and arrow set.

These pictures are so funny!  It looks like Jameson is trying to sneak up on Chelsea and attack her.  In reality, he was just standing behind her, doing his own little thing...making one pose after another.  LOL

I finally got him to come up beside Chelsea so I could get a picture.

They were only gone about 45 minutes and came back home, done for the night.  We asked both of them multiple times if they wanted us to take them some other places and both said "NO!"  Things have really changed in the past year, that's for sure!

We didn't get a lot of trick-or-treaters, but we did get more than we ever have before.  I made a ton of treats, so I still have a good bit left.

Yes, those mustard-colored candies are M and M's. They were in a Fall pack. Very ugly unusual color.

And for those of you who have asked, here is my "finished" front porch.  We got almost everything up, but just pretty much stopped at what you see.  It still looked cute for the few trick-or-treaters we did have.

Jameson did this. He was so proud of his waving skull!
I hope all of you had a safe, but thrilling Halloween!

Continued prayers for all of those hit by Superstorm Sandy!
