OUCH!! HOT! HOT! HOT!

Since it was such a dreary, rainy day here, I decided to cook a big ol' pot of vegetable soup. I threw together the ingredients and put the pot on to simmer for a little while.

YUMMY!

Now, what would go well with this delicious soup??
Of course, a Southern staple....
CORNBREAD!

I mix everything together, pour it into my screaming hot iron skillet,

and wait...

and wait...

and wait.

Finally, it is done! WOOOO HOOOO!

I go to get my screaming hot iron skillet, out of my screaming hot oven...

And my piece of crap pot holder decided it didn't want to protect my hand!

SHAME ON YOU, Stupid pot holder!!

Now I have a burnt hand....and not just any hand, my RIGHT hand! My main typing hand! My writing hand! My bootie wiping dominant hand!

Oh, and to add insult to injury (literally), I immediately slung carefully placed my screaming hot iron skillet on the countertop....

on top of a piece of plastic.

So, now I have a hurt hand and the bottom of my prize skillet is
covered with melted plastic!
UGH!

I forgot to take a picture of me scraping the plastic off the bottom of the skillet...I was in too much pain...
and I was too mad...
because I am so dumb.

So, there was only one thing left to do.....

EAT A BROWNIE!

**SMACK**
**CHOMP CHOMP**
**BURP**
(Excuse me!)

OK, now back to my throbbing hand....

I tried just wrapping ice with a cloth and holding it in my hand...

Well, THAT didn't work too well!

Then I found the PERFECT fix!

AHHHHHH! Coke Zero, I LOVE YOU!!

On my next trip to Ross, I'm buying new pot holders!

  3. Yep, I'm with Marty, nothing that chocolate and coke can't fix lol! I'm laughing because I had almost the same thing happen to me last week - why do potholders just die a sudden death? One minute they work, the next minute you're looking for the aloe vera! Sorry about your hand, but the soup and cornbread do look mighty tasty. Oh the sacrifices we make to feed our family! Kathy

I was just standing in front of the freezer trying to decide what to cook for dinner, when something caught my eye. 1-800-2LAZY-2-COOK caught my eye. Pizza! :-)
