Mother's Day and a Special Surprise!

I hope all of you wonderful ladies out there had a most wonderful and fantastic Mother's Day!
I was most fortunate that not only did I get to celebrate Mother's Day, I actually got to have an entire Mother's Day Weekend!

How did I get so lucky?

The weekend started off with the announcement:

"Let's go pick out you something for Mother's Day."

So, I put down my computer and Coke Zero, and got ready for an adventure!

Our first stop was a little nursery right down the street from our house.

Look at all of this flowery goodness!

I chose a flat of a couple of types of flowers, but decided I needed MORE, so off we headed to our nusery mecca....

LOWE'S

I know that most of you are probably saying "Lowe's????"

But in our little rural area, Lowe's offers acres and acres of all things that grow in the ground. Each time I go, I could easily spend thousands of dollars.

NOT that I EVER, EVER, EVER have thousands of dollars to spend.

I mean, just look at this......

And these are just the "EXTRAS"

Jameson is just as overwhelmed as I am.....

We did manage to find a FEW things...

After we finished at Lowe's, and managed to get the tree in the car (that in itself was a MAJOR feat), we drove to our favorite resturant to eat...

Jameson (and his Transformers) are ready for some food!

Mr. Delmonico....

I LOVE YOU!

LOOK!

Hubby even has his eyes open!!

Saturday was just a wonderful day!

----------------------------------

Sunday started off just like most typical Sunday mornings....

Us, sleeping a little later than we needed to, running around, digging through clean clothes, looking for something to wear. Me missing breakfast because I thought of just "one more thing" I needed to do for my Sunday School Class...

You know, typical Sunday morning stuff.

After Church, we headed to my Mother-in-Law's house.

This is my Wonderful Mother-in-Law.

I just love her so much!

I am so lucky to have her in my life!

I feel so sorry for all of the women out there who have a really tough time with their in-laws!

(You see where Hubby and Jameson get their beautiful blue eyes?)

THIS is another reason I love going to my MIL's house...

Yummy, Yummy Goodness!

Jameson was disappointed that his cousins weren't able to come, but he still had a great time!

Today, Hubby was off work, so he decided to plant all my flowers for me!

Such a dear, sweet hubby!

(I promise all of this will look SO much better when they start to spread!)

Aren't these Hydrangeas just gorgeous?

And this my friends, is my favorite....

It's a Weeping Cherry tree.

I cannot wait until it blooms!

So, there is a recap of my Mother's Day!

I hope you enjoyed yours as much as I did mine!

A couple of weeks ago, I entered a contest at Lisa's blog

Living Upward

and I WON!

I was in total and complete SHOCK! I never win anything!

And lookie what came in the mail today.....

Oh look! I won some bags!

Oh wait, there's something under those bags....

LOOKIE!! It's my new birdies, Robin and Marty 2!!

And BE STILL MY HEART.....

Gorgeous notepads AND pens that match!

They are SOOO cute!

I asked Lisa how she knew that all the female members of my family have an obsession with all things relating to stationary!

I've had to hide these so Chelsea doesn't get her paws on them!

And the best of the best....

Lisa MADE this plate, ladies!!! Isn't it gorgeous?!

It is even more beautiful in person.

Try not to be TOO jealous.

Doesn't everything looks so cute here?

I wish I could leave it here.....but I feared for Robin and Marty 2's lives...so I had to put everything WAAAAY up, out of the reach of a 6 y.o.

Thank you SO much, Lisa. Everything is even BETTER than I even expected!

So, everyone RUN, not walk, over to Lisa's blog, Living Upward and enjoy all of her creative genius!!

(Oh, and I don't want to leave Lisa's dear hubby out...he did spray the plate for me...Thank you too!)

---------------------------------------

Well, just like every Tuesday/Wednesday, I will be out of the loop for the next couple of days.

I hope you all have a fantastic week!!!

  1. Looks like you had a great weekend. My Mother's Day weekend got extended into Monday. Ben, Claire and Mother stayed an extra night so they could get new tires yesterday morning. So we got to play "The Game" Sunday night. "The Game" is really called "Progressive Rummy."

  4. So many pretties!! It was just like Christmas and a birthday all rolled into one. LOL

    Love the plate!

Glad you had a great Mom's Day. Your flowers are lovely, and I heart those kinds of trees. I want to get one but Bill says we need to get rid of some first. (Mr. Kill Joy) LOL

I will be gone for a few days, so try to stay out of trouble. I am going to see Debbie at Confessions of a Plate Addict and another bloggy friend in Asheville, and then I am stopping by in Raleigh to finally meet and spend the day with KD at Southern Whimsy. Woohoo! Its gonna be a whirlwind week.

    Take care my friend, hugs...Barb

  8. Your mother in law looks suspiciously like a woman I know as "Granny". I bought some impatiens at Lowes the other day, and they are dying! I think it's a combination of too much rain and maybe some aphids, I've tried everything to make them live!
