I got to see a "grown-up" movie!

Get your minds out of the gutter....

When I say "grown-up" movie, I don't mean a movie that involves a lot of bad language or nudity, or brown-chicken-brown-cow, I mean a movie that doesn't involve robots, cartoons, 3-D glasses or cotton candy.

I got to go see a movie, at the movie theater, that wasn't rated for children.

This was the first grown-up movie I have been to see with my husband since Talladega Nights back in 2006.

That's THREE LONG YEARS AGO people!

And Talladega Nights wasn't necessarily the best movie to see either.

But today, we took advantage of the holiday-week 11:00 am movie showing, and went to see

THE BLIND SIDE

Oh. My. Goodness.

This was a FANTASTIC movie!

Normally, we save biographical movies for the DVD or wait for them to come on HBO, but under the recommendation of many people, we decided to use our possibly-only-grown-up-movie-we-may-get-to-see-for-the-next-three-years opportunity to go see it.

I am so glad we did!

This was such a great, heartwarming story. It made me laugh, out loud, on several occasions (much to the dismay of the people who decided to sit DIRECTLY in front of us in a nearly-empty theater), and then made me cry a few minutes later.

The acting was incredible, especially the actor who played the young son, SJ.

And it didn't hurt it to have Tim McGraw as the father, either.

**Hubba Hubba**

The only not-so-good thing about the whole movie was Sandra Bullock's bad Southern accent....but I guess you would have to be from the South to notice that....lol!

If you get a chance to go see any movies this holiday season, I highly recommend this!

Unfortunately, since the movie was over 2 hours long, we had to rush out as soon as the movie ended to go sit in car-rider line for an hour. We didn't get to enjoy a full-fledged "date" with food and a movie....so, after we picked-up Jameson, we went back out to get something to eat.

Much to my surprise, my FAVORITE-EVER restaurant from my college days just opened a branch near my hometown this past week!

JEFFERSON'S

Marty saw that it was open this weekend, so we just knew we had to try it out and see if the food was still just as good.

When I was in Nursing School at JSU, a group of us would go eat there at least 2-3 times per week. I swear, I owe at least 30 pounds of this huge frame to that place!

The food here was just as good as the original! Their hot wings, their hamburgers, and their fried dill pickles.....Oh my goodness gracious! My figure doesn't stand a chance! (of course, it doesn't stand a chance as I look now, either...lol)

One unique thing about the original Jefferson's, is the decor. It's walls are decorated in dollar bills that have been creatively embellished by their patrons over the years. I was thrilled to see they are starting the same tradition here.

Every semester during Nursing School, we would "decorate" a new dollar bill to put on the wall. It was so fun to go in at a later date to see the bills from all the years prior. I thought this was a fantastic opportunity to let Jameson participate in this time-worn tradition. He was very apprehensive at first. He knows that he shouldn't be writing on money. But after a little encouragement from dear ol' mom, he really got into it.

***If any employees from the National Treasury are reading this, we only temporarily colored on the bills. All the color will wash off easily in the sink. Please disregard the words "Sharpie" on the markers.***

It was a really great day, except for the fact that Jameson almost got sent to the office.

**sigh**

I guess I will take the little pleasures as they come!

So, what movies are y'all planning to go see this Holiday Weekend?

I LOVE their food, but the one in Jacksonville isn't exactly baby friendly! We ate there alot when we were dating. So glad to see they are doing the dollar bills too!
