Mar[t]y, Mar[t]y, quite contrary. How does your garden grow?

It seems to be growing very well!!

I guess all of that TLC that dear, sweet hubby has been lavishing on his garden is starting to pay off.

As of today, this is what we have.....

Squash blossoms just appeared this morning.

By the time I got around to taking their picture, they had wilted a little.

Yummy tomatoes!

If I were going to fry some, this puppy would be just about right!

Corn. We were a little worried that we planted it too late. But then someone I worked with said "As long as it's knee high by the Fourth of July, you're good." So I think we are safe!

Watermelon and cantaloupe. I think we may have them planted too close together. I won't be surprised if we end up with some Waterloupes or Cantamelons...lol!

Beans. They sure are growing slow right now. It will take all summer just to get enough for a meal at this pace!

Jalapenos. They are growing FAST! Hubby is THRILLED!

And even our flowers are growing great!

So, I guess that I am happy I ended up with such a Dedicated Gardener.

We may end up with some food yet!

  1. We'll have some squash soon, we've got some small onions, and we've had to stake our tomatoes. Our corn is about a foot tall. Most of the potatoes we planted rotted from all the rain. :(

  5. Your garden looks great Robin! We keep talking about putting one in, but never seem to get around to it. Maybe we should start small with some container gardens. Yours is looking really wonderful, and I'm with Marty woo hoo on the jalapenos! Hugs, Kathy

  6. We used the jalapenos tonight in Mexican Cornbread. It was SO good!! We (Marty and I) ate the ENTIRE pan of it!

Jenny, once you get everything started, it isn't as hard. For us, it was just trying to get the dirt right on our red Alabama clay that was so hard.

Steph....NO POTATOES??? Oh NO!! What are you going to trade me for to get your cantaloupes? LOL! Just kidding!

  8. Hey Robin - I will take some pics of my garden. I was worried b/c it was growing like a jungle (I thought I saw a Toucan Sam sitting on the 'mater vines)- but I did not have a lot of blossoms. Dad said I over fertilized. (I know I told you last time and I am repeating myself). So, I would win for lots of vegetation, but not for blossoms. sigh!

I can't wait to see your Waterlopes. They sound yummy! :-D

    Hugs, Barb
