Oh no they didn't!!!

Has anyone seen PETA's newest ad? Well, here ya go in all of it's crappiness glory....

And here is a piece of the interview with PETA about their ad, taken from AOL.com...

"In a press release filled with offensive imagery that has traditionally been used to insult women around the keg of the cheapest light beer at fraternity parties, PETA has defended its decision to display billboards in Jacksonville, Florida with an image of the midsection of an overweight woman in a bikini and a slogan that has previously only been found in places such as, say, the bathroom wall at the lowest dive bar in town."

"A new PETA billboard campaign that was just launched in Jacksonville reminds people who are struggling to lose weight -- and who want to have enough energy to chase a beach ball -- that going vegetarian can be an effective way to shed those extra pounds that keep them from looking good in a bikini. The ad shows a woman whose "blubber" is spilling over the sides of her swimsuit bottom and features the tagline "Save the Whales. Lose the Blubber: Go Vegetarian. PETA."

Well, I would like to reply to PETA with a copy of an e-mail that I recently received from my good friend, Susan:

"I'm glad I'm a WHALE!"

Recently, in a large French city, a poster featuring a young, thin and tanned woman appeared in the window of a gym. It said:

"THIS SUMMER DO YOU WANT TO BE A MERMAID OR A WHALE?"

A middle aged woman, whose physical characteristics did not match those of the woman on the poster, responded publicly to the question posed by the gym.

To Whom It May Concern:

Whales are always surrounded by friends (dolphins, sea lions, curious humans). They have an active sex life, they get pregnant and have adorable baby whales. They have a wonderful time with dolphins stuffing themselves with shrimp. They play and swim in the seas, seeing wonderful places like Patagonia, the Barren Sea , and the coral reefs of Polynesia .

Whales are wonderful singers and have even recorded CDs. They are incredible creatures and virtually have no predators other than humans. They are loved, protected and admired by almost everyone in the world.

Mermaids don't exist. If they did exist, they would be lining up outside the offices of Argentinean psychoanalysts due to identity crisis. Fish or human? They don't have a sex life because they kill men who get close to them…besides how could they have sex? Therefore they don't have kids either. Not to mention who wants to get close to a girl who smells like a fish store?

The choice is perfectly clear to me;
I want to be a whale.

So PETA, go choke on your tofu!

And to the rest of my wonderful bloggie buddies out there.....I hope you have a wonderful and fabulous day!!

  5. Geez! What peta never mentions is that half the vegetarians look skin and bones and a small gust of wind could blow them away. That couldn't be healthy either.

  7. peta rubs me the wrong way. i wish instead of constantly seeking their 15 minutes of fame, they would do something constructive with all their money and give money to actually assist animals in shelter, or being mistreated somewhere in the world. i never hear of them doing anything but seeking a spot on tv.

    i'd rather be a whale.
