OK, I am accepting my shut-up juice!

Over the past couple of weeks, I have been proven wrong about a couple of things, and I would like to come clean about it.

Revelation number 1:

First of all, I would like to make an apology for anything negative I may have said about the Florida Gators quarterback, Tim Tebow.

During and after the game, I said some things that I was wrong about.

I made a HUGE deal about him not shaking the Alabama team's hands as they walked by, as was shown on television. I called him a bad sport and a cry baby.

Monday, I listened to a discussion by a local sportscaster who was actually covering Tebow after the ball game. He talked about how he bypassed everything initially trying to make it to Alabama's coach Nick Saban. He sat there and waited for him to finish his interview and then went to tell him what a great job the team had done. He THEN went and congratulated the rest of the Alabama team.

None of this was shown on television, but I'm glad to know what ACTUALLY happened.

I'm still not thrilled with the "Tebow Lovefest" that the announcers have shown over the past couple of months....I mean, come on, do you really have to say his name over 1000 times in ONE game (seriously, it happened during the Florida/Florida State game), but I am now resigned to the fact that he is really a good guy.

(However, judging from Internet photos of his past girlfriend(s), they may need to take a little refresher course on what "good, Christian young women" are wearing these days.....wow, I didn't realize bathing suits could be so small!)

I still want Mark Ingram to win the Heisman, though...lol.

Revelation number 2:

Twilight

A few weeks ago, and did this entire blog post about the Twilight series. I didn't understand all of the hype and WHY anyone would want to go to a midnight showing of a movie about a love affair between a human and a vampire.

After some ribbing by some of my buddies, I finally broke down and read the books and.....

I. LOVE. THEM.

OK, there, I said it....I love the books.

ARE YOU HAPPY YOU TWISTED TWILIGHT PEOPLE?

After I finished the first book, I re-watched the movie. I still wasn't really thrilled with the movie because they left out so much the emotion of the book, but I am actually looking forward to seeing New Moon.

Revelation number 3:

This isn't necessarily a revelation, but more of an apology....

I've been REALLY, REALLY bad about my blog commenting lately, and for that I am TRULY sorry! This time of year, my ADD really kicks in and I have an extremely difficult time concentrating on specific tasks at hand....NOT that reading your wonderful, hilarious and thoughtful blogs are a task!

I promise I will try my best to do better!

I love each and every one of you and hope we are buddies FOREVER!

**whew**

OK, it feels good to get all of that off my chest.

I hope y'all have a wonderful, calm, productive week!

  1. Robin, it takes a good woman to admit that she may have been wrong about a couple of things, but I am sure these are the ONLY things you were wrong about, lol! Sue

  2. Robin, I have trouble keeping up this time of year too! Truth be known, we're all killing ourselves trying to get it all done. Crazy, huh?

  3. When you are a die-hard fan, it is hard to recognize the good things about another team. Good for you. I think Tim Tebow is a wonderful roll model for young people. He lives his faith.
I loved your blog on your visit to see Pioneer Woman.

  4. I liked the twilight books better than the movies also. I am glad I read the books first; then saw the movies!

  6. Well, this 'twisted Twilight person' is happy that you tried the books! :) Truthfully, Meyer's writing is not technically the best there is but the woman sure can tell a story. She creates great characters, too.
As for your other admissions, Tebow is a good guy from what I hear, but I don't keep up with college ball so much. And as new as I am to blogging, I'm already learning how tough it is to keep up on the comments! I'm sure that once we get through Christmas it will get better. :)

  7. Darlin', you are too stinkin' cute!

I'm also guilty of quasi making fun of Tebow crying (really, I just wanted to hug him, but that's another story...)

And, I made fun of the Twilight stuff too, until reading. Oh my, they are like word crack. I wish you lived closer, you could come to GNO for the Eclipse release (and yes...it's already planned.!)

Stay warm! Momma is in LA this week for work and talking about how chilly it is!
