Oh wow Robin! That is totally amazing. I definitely know how you are feeling. While my Taylor is too profoundly developmentally disabled to be able to vote, I remembered how happy she was when she went and got her ID. She laughed hysterically getting her picture made.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to Chelsea! I'm excited for all of you.
Dawn, I know Taylor had to be so excited!!! Even though Chelsea is developmentally delayed, too, she is always with my mother, who is big-time into politics. She's been going with her to vote ever since she was a baby. She couldn't wait until she turned 18 and is finally able to vote "for real". We are having a local runoff in a couple of weeks, and she's already got her sample ballot filled out!
ReplyDeleteHuge congrats to Chelsea! I remember being so excited to be able to register on my 18th birthday, and I think it's so neat to see other youngsters excited, too! You must be so proud!
